Can a Christian be an Anarchist?

To most Christians the expression Christian Anarchy sounds like an oxymoron or a contradiction. Paul taught the Christians to obey the government, pay taxes, be the quiet in the land and be upright exemplary citizens.

But Yahshuah taught that his Gospel would have the disturbing effect of a sword and a wild fire.
The Romans called the early Christians "those who are turning the world upside down" and "haters of the world".

Most people today understand Anarchy as a state of lawlessness and confusion where competing gangs are plundering the weak, and there is no government, nor police forces to maintain justice and to restrain criminals.

That is not the original definition of Anarchy or the kind I am advocating. Here is the original definition of Anarchy:

"Absence of any form of state, coercive political authority, or coercive social hierarchy. Absence of a ruler, ruling class, ruling political party or parties, or power elite." (Retrieved from the internet July 4, 2005 http://a9.com/Anarchy )

I want to state at the start that I am teaching Non-violent Christian Anarchy

I believe that the Gospel teaches political and religious Anarchy. When the Kingdom of Heaven fills the whole world there will be no need for rulers and laws. Yah will be the only ruler. When all people dwell and live in the same spirit as Yahshuah, they will break no laws and have no need for rulers. Everyone will love their neighbors as themselves and sharing and forgiveness will be in every heart.

Until such time as the Kingdom comes in its fullness, the Followers of Yahshuah should always be pushing against the status quo and never upholding it. The Followers of Yahshuah will challenge, and be a threat to the way the world does things now. The Followers of Yahshuah will always be longing for a kingdom without a ruling class, ecclesiastical authorities, or power elites. For too long false preachers have been telling us "Good Christians are good citizens." Those who preach co-existence, or cooperation, with the Satanic world system are siding with the enemies of Christ.

Yahshuah said, "He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters." (Lk.11:33)

The Follower of Yahshuah can never be a friend to national governments, nor states, for states only exist through the use of military and police forces, and they use execution to maintain themselves.

Yahshuah launched the ultimate non-violent cultural revolution. It was said of the early Apostles

"These that have turned the world upside down." (Act 17:6)

The followers of Yahshuah should be turning their world upside down and never making friends with it, until the Kingdom of Yah comes in its fullness on Resurrection Day.

"Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." (James 4:4)

The Gospel is a sword

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." (Mt.10:34)

But it is not a metal sword.

"And take ... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (the Logos)." (Eph.6:17)

These relentless pushes against the status quo, are the birth pangs of the Kingdom of Yah. The pushes are constant, but not violent. Even when the evil archons (rulers, princes, kings, governors etc.) of the world attack us, we must not resort to anger, hatred, bitter talk, or retaliation.

Yahshuah said, "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also (Mt.5:39)

"But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you that you may be the children of your father which is in heaven." (Mt. 5:34)

Yahshuah did not come to set up a government, but an anti-government whose officials act completely contrary to the way the world acts.

"But Yahshuah having summoned them, says to them, You know that the ones recognized to be ruling the nations domineer over them, and their great ones tyrannize them. But it will not be so among you. But whoever shall be desiring to become great among you, he will be your servant. And whoever of you is desiring to become first, he will be slave of all." (Mt.10:42-45)

Yahshuah did not come to legislate. When he was asked to settle a Civil case, "He said to him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?" (Lk 12:14)

He did not come to be a king. "When Yahshuah therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone." (John 6:15)

So Followers of Yahshuah are not to be kings, nor legislators, nor set up hierarchies and rulers among themselves, nor form militias, nor use carnal weapons. But they are to be continually advancing the Kingdom (which has no ruler but Yah), and turning over the status quo, by challenging every false way and idea; always speaking the truth in love. This includes overturning the false archons in the church world which should have no rulers.

Muslims are often criticized for not renouncing Muslim Terrorists but when was the last time you heard a Christian criticize Christian Leaders who advocate "Christian terrorism"?

For too long false preachers have been confusing the Followers of Yahshuah and promoting national patriotism and encouraging the Followers of Yahshuah to kill the enemies and even the Followers of Yahshuah in neighboring countries.

The Followers of Yahshuah are not citizens of nations, but citizens of the Kingdom of heaven.
Until the Resurrection Day we are  an unorganized international community made up of believers who love Yah and his son Yahshuah, the Messiah. We have no leaders but Yah our king and Yahshuah, our prince.

We owe no allegiance to any earthly authority, neither to governments nor ecclesiastical powers. Our only obligation is to love and not despise the people caught in those Babylons.

"Neither shall you be called masters (pastors, under shepherds, leaders, Reverends, Rabbis, teachers, fathers,Bishops, elders etc) , for one is your Master-the Christ." (Mt 23:10)

Does that mean you can break the laws of the land? Of course not. You must obey the laws of each land to avoid being captured and delayed from your mission. Immoral, unjust or ungodly laws will require you to disobey, but do it quietly and avoid getting caught.

The Followers of Yahshuah owe nothing to the evil Caesar's of this world. When Yahshuah was asked if the Jews should pay a tax to the Romans who were a cruel, occupying, enemy army who saw Caesar as God, his answer was to give to Caesar what belonged to Caesar.

"Give to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God". (Mt.22:21)

Every one in his audience knew that nothing in Israel, especially their allegiance, belonged to this demon-worshipping, gentile invader who asked people to worship him as a god, an idolater who hated them and was attempting to exterminate them. That should be the Believer's attitude today to all governments. Notice this is not the same thing as hatred and rebellion. The kingdom of God is a revolution but not a rebellion. It is a revolt against the unlawful occupation of the earth by the system of Satan. It is not a rebellion, a rebellion is to oppose God, to support worldly governments is rebellion against Yah. The false preachers have told you that the evil Caesars have certain claims that you must honor. They have used Romans 13 to intimidate and coerce the Followers of Yahshuah into propping up Satan's system, and have used it to justify any and every war. (see Troy Nilsson's expose of Romans 13)

Romans 13 is not a command to cooperate with the Satanic rulers of the world, but advice on how to wage a strategic non-violent revolution without being entangled, captured and executed..

Here is how I read Romans 13

Let everyone be respectful to those in authority (don't scream at them). You live in a world where kingdoms quickly rise and then fall. God puts one up and another down. Therefore do not side with one kingdom against another lest you end up opposing God. For if you oppose God you will be damned. The person who lives an "apolitical" life has nothing to fear from militant powers. (They do not see you as a threat). They may minister some good to you. But if you violently confront them, they do not bear arms for show. If you take up arms against militant powers, you will be disobeying God, and they execute wrath upon you. Therefore submit to their demands in so far as they do not conflict with the Gospel. Submit not only to escape wrath, but because in your conscience you know that loving and peaceful means are Yah's way to bring in his Kingdom. So when they corner you, pay the ruling authorities whatever they demand. Pay them all their unjust taxes, fees, or fines that they impose in a spirit of respect and fear. Leave no debt unpaid, and remember your biggest debt is to show all men and women and children brotherly love.

Romans 13 is not a call for obedience to the Satanic system, but advice on how to behave so that you are not entangled in the web of politics as you quietly go about resisting Satan's kingdom and bringing in Yah's kingdom where governments and politics, and ecclesiastical hierarchies will cease.
